If you've got Sudoku fever, a freeware Pocket PC version of the grid-based logic game probably sounds like the greatest thing since, well, Pocket PCs. Unfortunately, SuDoku for Pocket PC disappointed us on most counts. It has a primitive interface and a critically poor set of features, which even its tiny size can't justify. It comes with only six predefined puzzles and doesn't allow you to generate new games automatically. The publisher suggests downloading new puzzles via the Internet, but we found no more than 25 online. You can't mark digits with colors or input them directly. To enter 9, for example, you have to click the cell nine times.
Installing the game requires unzipping the downloaded package and manually copying the extracted CAB file via ActiveSync, though the rest of the setup process proceeded quickly and successfully.
